The Décor Committee is the ministry responsible for preparing the décor of the altar of our churches in accordance to the Liturgical Season.
The General Instruction on the Roman Missal states that "sacred buildings and requisites for divine worship should be truly worthy and beautiful and be signs and symbols of heavenly realities" (GIRM 288). It is this desire to provide beauty and a fitting space for our worship that guides the work of the Décor Committee and helps them to plan and execute the decorating that is done in the churches and that offers a meaningful extension of the liturgical signs and symbols of the most important Church feast and seasons.
