Canon Law and Archdiocesan policy require each parish to have a Parish Pastoral Council to assist the pastor in planning, coordinating, guiding, and directing all aspects of parish life.
The mission of the St. Patrick Church Parish Council is to act as a communication link between the clergy and the parishioners regarding the spiritual, material, and human resource needs of the parish. The Parish Council serves in an advisory and consultative capacity and is primarily concerned with pastoral life and parish ministry, advising in the areas of policy and mission. The members, who are voted onto the Council through an election taken by the parishioners, provide helpful perspectives and information to the pastor regarding various topics concerning the church and its parishioners. The Parish Council is required to meet at least quarterly and generally meets more regularly, up to having meetings on a monthly basis.
